trees

as i emerge through the rusty treesand branches of old, heavy and biginto the meadow draped in greenand skies dripping with gleei see myself in the scarlet irisof people past and goneand i think to myselfbe gentle in this breezedo not rush it or destroy your dreamslend a helping hand towards yourselfand lift your soul onto your shouldersso it forever singsof this sweet life and everything it brings

peace

peace is so elusiveit is made of stardust and abandoned dreamsor perhaps being grounded in the now without releasewith steady breathing and a pretty skywhether it's dark or brightit always offers us a choicewaiting for us to reach outif you let your thoughts flyyou can burn bright and lose sightof the beauty and wonder before youand the sea of crashing waves brewing insidetry to reconcile the twoand it might amaze youto find that we're all the samedeep down we all yearn for lovelove is the very essence of existenceit moves the stars across the galaxyand ships use it to power their sailsyou can hear it in every songand catch a glimpse of it in a beam of lightin your best friend's laughterin a calf's first grazegladiators fight for itand some die to honor it

purple

cry now and let it all outyour tears fall and cascade like shooting starsbut the moment is too latei have left it all behindobscured by the yellow bramblesand lost in the everchanging grove of memoriesthey bring joy and sorrow alikefor we do not choose the direction of our heartit always finds its own wayand all we can do is sit and obeyplease give me couragei seem to short on that as of latethe purple sky speaks to me nowand i always smile backin an attempt to enjoy the ridei keep fighting backit comes and goes in wavesthis spite and the hazefor when i returnmy heart will be smothered for daysi will fight to keep it that way

roads

just keep looking through the lensand grab the beam of light by the handride the wave of emotions highuntil you reach the point of no returnthinking about the past and the futurealways chasing the nowit's so hard getting therethese wild thoughts keep up the fightbut I never give up and lash outcreeping inwards ever closerthe way always disappears from underneathand below i find countless othersthe choice is there only to fool usbreaking the cycle forces us to look upwhere there are no roadsonly green-lit leaves and mossand a gentle breezeto exist in this world is a gift indeed

darkness

in the darkness i lie alone and face my fearsthe distant red light gently calls my dreamswhile i drift away into a sleepless nighthoping for someone to give me respiteo, wise spirit in the corner of my roomwill you say something to ease my gloom?for thousands of years I've roamed the earthno more than a whisper, a gust of winda sleight of hand, a word misusedin a moonlit pond i find my reflectiononly to look away confusedo, holy spirit that envelopes my soulwhy must i always end up on my own?even though i feel your presence and its glowstill i find myself lower than ever beforeand while my eyes slowly fall to the floori cannot ignore the love that permeates my soulmy heart was forged in it, don’t you know?it dictates my mood and the way i breathei bathe in it and let it wash away my fearsbut i keep wondering–am i too broken to be loved and held dear?
